Simply Connect Hires Seasoned Journalist and Filmmaker

Patrick Gavin To Expand Outreach and Marketing

Simply Connect announced Monday its hiring of Patrick Gavin, a seasoned filmmaker and journalist who will help spearhead the company’s branding and messaging.

"I was excited to join Simply Connect as soon as I heard about how its innovative model and products are set to transform the health care industry," said Gavin. "They have an incredible and powerful story to tell and I'm eager to use my background in journalism and visual storytelling to make sure that everyone connects with their important work."

Gavin recently moved to Minnesota from Washington, D.C. where he covered national politics for over a decade, including for such organizations as the Brookings Institution, the Washington Examiner and, most recently, Politico.

Gavin is the director of “Nerd Prom: Inside Washington’s Wildest Week,” a feature-length documentary that exposed the biggest annual event in Washington, D.C.: The White House Correspondents’ Dinner. He is also a member of the board of directors at Minnesota Film and TV, a non-profit film commission that promotes film and television production in Minnesota. His production company, PWG Media Group, helps partners tell their stories in innovative and compelling ways and has produced videos for such individuals as Laird Hamilton, Gabrielle Reece and Floyd Mayweather.

Gavin has also been a regular television contributor, including appearances on “Morning Joe,” “Reliable Sources,” “The Andrea Mitchell Show,” “Headline News,” “Dateline,” “TODAY,” “The O’Reilly Factor,” “The Early Show,” and “TMZ Live.” He was named by the Atlantic as one of “The 30 Washington Insiders You Should Follow on Twitter,” by Business Insider as one of its “Most Influential People in Media” and by The Wrap as one of the “25 Media Insiders to Follow Right Now.” He served as a Young Scholar at the Aspen Institute.

"I've been looking for the right partner to help communicate all of the exciting products and initiatives that we have underway and, in Patrick, I found someone who knows how to reach audiences with clear and impactful visual messaging," said Simply Connect CEO Craig Patnode. I'm thrilled about the work we are doing, and Patrick will play a key role in our team's success going forward."
